Laurie O'Brien - Sprint
Taken on Sunday at about 10:30 a.m. ISO 200, SS 1/200, F/5.0, Focal Length 90mm.
I shoot at a lot of bike races and learning how to shoot a picture like this is one of the reasons I took this class!!! I shot about 95 pictures this morning and had fairly good success. The hardest part was not losing the subject of my pan and losing focus. I might try an even faster shutter speed next time to capture even more blur in the wheels.

This is a great shot because it looks like the bicyclist is almost floating, you can feel the action, and it makes you take a second look at the photo. I also like how the bicyclist isn't directly in the center. I know it's hard to position moving things, but you did a good job not cutting off the tire.
ReplyDeleteThe horizon looks a little off, I wonder what the picture would look like if it were a tad straighter? Overall, it looks like this class has been very beneficial for you to get the shot you were looking to get! That is great!
You did great in capturing the speed of the bicyclist and the blur of the wheels! I can sense the speed just by looking at the picture. I’m sure you will put all your new skills to excellent use at future races! You’ve done great!
