It took a lot of shots to get this picture and I'm still not satisfied. I took this last night during the wind storm, which was blowing so hard it shook the poles too. I had the camera sitting on a solid base but not on a tripod, which probably wouldn't have made much of a difference since the wind would have blown the tripod too. I would like to hear some suggestions how I could have improved this shot. I took it at shutter speed 8 seconds, F4, and ISO 200.
If you wanted to capture a little less movement in the pole, perhaps a faster shutter speed would have done it. 8 seconds is a pretty long time. The flags still would have been blurred at a much faster speed, even 1/2 second. Still, this is a neat shot...it almost looks like the flags are smoking!
