This picture was taken at the Central Pierce Fire & Rescue Firefighter Recruit Academy Graduation on Saturday (very proud of my friend Ronnie!). It was at a high school performing arts center and the lighting was dark with spotlights on the graduates and stage with the audience in darkness. This photo is one of the first pictures taken when the graduates first walked out and I was trying to get my camera adjusted to the lighting. Photo taken with my Canon 40D on TV with Shutter 1/20, f/9, ISO 1600, and the flash on. I finally got a setting to work on ISO High that I didn't need the flash for the remaining time. I like how my friend is in focus and the rest of the people are blurry. I had to crop out some heads in front of me, so I wish that I would have been more aware of that while taking the shot.

You did a great job for a dark room! Good job of capturing your subject in motion. I'm impressed that you stuck with it and figured out how to do it without the flash.
